Bollywood’s most influential on-screen Male Teachers

A teacher is someone who is responsible for the nurturing of a seed that knows nothing. It is the teacher who has the power to influence the thoughts of a student by imparting him with great knowledge. Whoever we turn out to be is an outcome of what our teachers put into us. They become an integral part of our lives. They are our guides and friends as well. Without them, we are nothing.

To celebrate our Gurus, we have created a list of some of the most influential Male Teachers played by the Bollywood celebs that made us think deeper.

1. Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan has portrayed some of the most influential and striking roles as an on-screen teacher. We have seen him as a strict guru as Narayan Shankar in Mohabbatein who firmly believes in disciplining his students using rules. As Debraj Sahai in Black, he stands by his deaf, dumb and blind student and fights with her against all odds. Finally, as Prabhakar Anand in Aarakshan, as an honest professor, he fights against the injustice copulating within the educational system. We have loved him in all of these roles.

2. Aamir Khan


Aamir Khan plays the role of an art teacher as Ram Shankar Nikhumbh in Taare Zameen Par. His role was not just to teach his students how to paint colour strokes, but he encourages them to break all the boundaries to find their inner self. His dedication in helping a dyslexic student who was discarded as a non-rational student was remarkable. As an on-screen teacher, he succeeds in teaching the real-life parents what true education is.

3. Shahrukh Khan


King Khan donned the hat of a teacher on the big screen twice. First, he is seen as Raj in Mohabbatein who is a music teacher. He shows his students how important is it to embrace love, no matter in what form it comes. Love is music and music is love was his teaching. Second, he is seen as a mentor of the Indian Women’s Hockey Team in Chak de India. As Coach Kabir, he is strict, disciplined and rigid. But, he is the one who drives a team, which was considered useless, to win the world championship. His morals were outstanding.

4. Boman Irani


Boman Irani is on-screen’s favourite science professor. He first played the role of the Dean of a medical college in Munna Bhai M.B.B.S and then he was seen as Dean Viru Sahastrabudhhe in 3 Idiots. Both of these characters were shrewd but wanted the best for their students. They wanted their students to achieve the panache by working hard under the sun.

5. Rishi Kapoor


Rishi Kapoor played the role of a jolly principle in Karan Johar’s Student of the Year. He is seen as a colourful and gay principle who is concerned about each and every student of his school. He maintains a close relationship with them which helps them to talk to him about their innermost fears. He is truly the most loved principle ever.
