Recently, the outbreak of the coronavirus has caused global concern. It is said that it spread through the consumption of unprocessed meat by Chinese but the proper reason is yet to be unveiled by scientists. Now it has spread to other countries including the United States, Italy, and India. Deaths have been reported in the affected countries and the rate of death has been increasing day-by-day. It is necessary to take precautions to avoid the virus attack. Let’s see about the symptoms and precautions for the coronavirus.
Overview of Coronavirus
A coronavirus is a type of virus that is found in animals and birds. It is rarely transmitted from animals to humans and affects the respiratory tract of the affected individuals. The coronavirus can cause illness such as common cold, severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and the Middle East respiratory syndrome. The life duration of the virus is only about 12 hours. During the life duration, when the affected individual makes contact with the nearby person, it will spread to another person. So the affected individual should maintain the distance from another normal person.
Symptoms of a Coronavirus Disease:
The symptoms of coronavirus are as follows:
- Common Cold
- Severe Fever
- Difficulty in Breathing
- The affected individuals will have a dry cough.
It takes 2-14 days after exposure to the coronavirus for the symptoms to develop. The symptoms will vary from person to person. The centre for disease control has considered the affected individuals will have a fever temperature at least 100.4 degrees F or 38 degrees C.
The other symptoms of corona are sneezing, running nose, fatigue, sore throat and exacerbated asthma. Scientists cannot easily identify the human coronavirus in the laboratory, unlike the rhinovirus which is cause for the common cold. There is no cure for the coronavirus that causes symptoms similar to the common cold. The treatment of the coronavirus is self-care. The self-care steps are
- Drinking enough amount of water
