Womens Day or International Womens Day (IWD) is celebrated every year on March 08. It is celebrated to bring forward the issues related to women such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence against women. The first Womens Day was observed on February 28, 1909, by the Socialist Party of America in New York City. Inspired by this, a dedicated date that is March 08 is decided to celebrate International Womens Day and it is a public holiday in several countries.
