About Parents Day

A parent does everything that they are capable of for their children. They love their children, care for them, as well as work hard in order to make their children a better person and in order to make them stand on their own foot. So, it is a responsibility of a child to make their parents know that they also love and care for them. Furthermore, a child should show gratitude to their parents for all the sacrifices they do for their children. Thus, a special day is assigned to all the parents to recognize their hard work as well as sacrifices in nurturing their children. And, this special day is known as Parents Day which is celebrated every year on the fourth Sunday in the month of July.

Parents Day is celebrated on different dates in various countries. Like, India follows the dates of the United States which is the fourth Sunday of July every year. In South Korea, Parents Day is annually celebrated on May 8 by people as well as the government. In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, This Day is celebrated on August 1 each year. On this day, children honor their parents for the dedication and efforts they put in raising the family as well as in making their life better. Furthermore, it is the perfect day for making people realize the importance of parents in their lives so that they can respect their parents more. Moreover, this parents day can also help in making parents and child’s relationship better as well as stronger.

In the United States, Parents Day was first established in 1994 when President Bill Clinton signed a Congressional Resolution into law for recognizing, uplifting, and supporting the role of parents in the rearing of children. Then, the bill was introduced by Republican Senator Trent Lott. Moreover, it was supported by members of the Unification Church which also celebrates a holiday called Parents Day on a different date. Since then, Parents Day is celebrated throughout the United States. Apart from this, The United Nations also declared June 1 to be celebrated as the Global Day of Parents to appreciate all parents in all parts of the world for their selfless commitment to children and their lifelong sacrifice towards nurturing this relationship.

Why Do We Celebrate Parents Day?

It is the perfect day to show your parents that you feel gratitude towards them and you appreciate the life that you are living is because of them. Furthermore, you can say thanks to your parents on this day for all the sacrifices, efforts, as well as hard work they have done for you. Furthermore, this is the perfect day when you can spend some quality time with your father and mother. You can make your bond stronger and reconnect yourself with them. Sometimes, due to college work or office pressure, it becomes very hard to catch up with parents. Furthermore, sometimes we even don’t get enough time to sit and talk with them. Thus, Parents Day is the perfect chance to do all the things with your parents that you have missed.
